White House Down Trailer

The genre for this media text is a action film. However, the trailer is an advert to encourage more people to watch the film in the cinema.

The target audience for this film would be for young teenagers to adults. (15-35 years old). This would appeal to mainly people who like violence. Mainly male would prefer to watch this film then females because male are known to be violent.


The platform for this film is extended on a DVD to a trailer on youtube. The trailer is edited and cut down to 3 minutes long approximately.The extended version would mainly be watched in the cinema, or on a DVD, on TV, on a laptop or computer. With a younger target audience they will mainly be watched on a phone, tablet or laptop.

Why did you choose GCSE Media Studies?
I chose media because I have studied photography GCSE and I wanted to study recording as well as taking photos.
Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?
I am looking forward to the music video course the most.

What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?
I want to learn professional skills such as angles, lightening and to see if there is a major difference between photography and media.

What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media?
I am hoping to achieve at least a A/B in media.

What was the last TV programme or film you watched?
The last thing I watched on TV was the football. England v's Costa Rica  

Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience?
I think it appealed to the audience because it is competitive and is a chance for everyone to support there country.

In the last 24 hours I have used my phone, iPod and TV.

What device do you use most to access the media?
I use my phone the most to access the media.

The main news story is 'Judge rebukes Cameron for comments on Coulson conviction.' I think its the main story because Cameron is our PM so it is most likely to be on the news.

What is the main news story on the Guardian website (guardian.co.uk) currently? Why do you think it is the main story?
The main news story is ' Fifa opens disciplinary proceedings over Luis Suarez 'bite'. I think this is the main story because football is the most important thing on TV at the moment so it is most likely to be on the news to keep us updated.
